Constructing the Intervention

This process will involve both the use of skilled construction workers and the people of Stretford. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that the younger members of the Arts Factory can gain valuable insight into the process behind construction. This community-led involvement will inspire a future generation of builders eagerly anticipating the arrival of the building.
The money which is kept through the membership and nightclasses schemes run by the Arts Factory will help to fund the final stage of the intervention; a large exhibition and event space. Additionally, through the new masterplan seen earlier, which will help to regenerate the shop front along Edge Lane, products made inside the Arts Factory will be sold in the new independent shop front and the money made will be put back into the scheme.
An additional point of finance becomes the creation of each brick; through the shape of the brick wall generated earlier, each person who wishes to contribute to the creation of the Arts Factory can buy a brick and have their message engraved on it. The revenue generated from this income will help to fund and finalise the construction, and also implement a new sense of shared ownership for the community
​Immediate funding from an Arts council application will help to pay for the renovation of the front of the Essoldo into a community-led cinema. It is through this initial profit from the cinema that the demolition of the back can take place. People who wish to participate and join the Arts Factory council can help spearhead the campaign

Besides providing a platform for members of the Arts Factory and local artists, the exhibition space can be used to hold events, for a fee, which will help generate more money back into the scheme. This in turn means that the Arts Factory can eventually be a self-sustaining building.
